Minimum admission requirements

To be considered for admission to this program, you must meet minimum academic criteria:

  1. Completion of secondary school (Grade 12)
  2. Achievement of the minimum average for your program of choice.
  3. Completion of Grade 12 English (or equivalent course).

Admission to many 海角社区app programs is competitive. This means that meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

  • Academic English 12

  • Academic Math 12

Program options

As a student in the Managed Landscapes program, the campus is your classroom. You鈥檒l learn hands-on skills by working in our campus gardens, including the Rock Garden, Alumni Garden, and other specialized garden environments - and by designing and creating your own landscape.

What you will learn

You鈥檒l take five courses per term, on a wide range of topics, from entomology to horticulture engineering and surveying. In second year, you can choose an elective course that will allow you to focus on a subject of particular interest to you.

Sample courses may include:

  • Wood Construction Techniques
  • Greenhouse Crop Management
  • Plant Propagation

You'll also be required to take these workplace readiness certificates, including Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Emergency First Aid, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).

Whether you鈥檙e interested in the business side of the horticulture industry, starting your career right after graduation, or continuing onto degree studies, the Managed Landscapes program will prepare you for the future.

Careers

This program will help you prepare for a career in a variety of locations and sectors, including landscaping firms, planning agencies, recreational parks, institutions, or in self-employed roles such as landscape horticultural technologists.听

Students who successfully complete the Diploma in Technology Managed Landscapes with a cumulative average of at least 2.0 are eligible for admission to the two-year Bachelor of Technology Environmental Landscape Horticulture program.
