Program overview
海角社区app鈥檚 new Master of Management (MM) is a one-year, full-time program designed for recent graduates and career changers from any academic background.听
Developed with input from industry, alumni, and faculty experts, the MM blends business foundations, project management, and leadership into a fast, focused pathway to career growth. You鈥檒l gain real-world experience through hands-on projects, service learning, and simulations, while a dedicated career development program provides networking, mentorship, and job search support.听
No business degree or GMAT is required, making the MM an accessible and practical choice if you鈥檙e ready to take your career to the next level.

Supporting documents
Applicants should hold a four-year bachelor鈥檚 degree (or equivalent) in any discipline from an institution recognized by 海角社区app University with a minimum 3.0 a 4.3 scale (B average) in the last 2 years (60 credits) of study.
As per Faculty of Graduate Studies regulations, we cannot accept applicants that do not have an undergraduate degree. 听
- Unofficial/partial transcripts:听
- These are acceptable at the time of application. HOWEVER, official/final versions must be submitted to the Faculty of Graduate Studies within 90 days of starting the program, if accepted. A hold will be placed on your account if you do not meet this deadline. Please make a plan ahead of time to obtain and submit your official transcripts.

- Official/final transcripts:
- Must include all final marks, the degree name/type, and the date the degree was conferred (graduation date). If this is not stated on the transcript, documentation must be provided from the University confirming this information.
- Submission options are: Electronic file-transfers from the issuing institution and from services such as Parchment, National Student Clearinghouse, eScrip-Safe, or TranscriptNetwork. All electronic transcripts must be sent to mmin12@dal.ca.
Important transcript details:
- Please submit one鈥痗opy鈥痮f all official transcripts from ALL post-secondary institutions attended (including transfer credits, study abroad, incomplete programs).
- Transcripts submitted with applications become the property of 海角社区app University, are subject to verification, are not available for copying, and will not be returned to the applicant.鈥
- Notarized transcripts will not be accepted.鈥
- Transcripts in languages other than English or French must be accompanied by an English translation provided by the institution issuing the transcript.鈥
- Transcript grading keys must be included with the transcript.鈥
- Official transcripts are not required for any courses or degree you have completed at 海角社区app University (unless courses were taken through the Faculty of Open Learning and Career Development听or ). Our office will obtain these transcripts on your behalf.鈥
Please contact your referees prior to completing your application to ensure they agree to provide a reference.
All applicants are required to submit a minimum of two academic references.
In addition to the required two academic reference letters, applicants may submit鈥one or two鈥痯rofessional references that they feel would strengthen their application:听
- 听Applicants who graduated 3-5 years ago may submit one professional reference in lieu of academic.
- 听Applicants who graduated 5+ years ago may submit two professional references in lieu of academic.
- 听At least one academic reference is strongly encouraged for ALL applicants.

Reference Submission Options听
Preferred Option: E-reference System: In the references section of the online application portal, choose 鈥淣o鈥 to indicate your referee will be using the e-reference system. Enter a valid email address for each referee. Once your application is submitted and your application fee paid, the referees will receive an email request to fill out the online form. Admissions staff will be notified when the reference form is submitted.听
Please review the information carefully. It cannot be changed or removed once the application is submitted.

Preferred Option 2: E-mail: In the references section of the online application portal, choose 鈥淵es鈥 to indicate that your referee will be submitting directly to our office. Ask your referees to fill out and sign the Confidential Reference Form [PDF-160 KB]. They may include a separate letter, but it's not required. The reference form must be emailed by the referee to mmin12@dal.ca Referees must use their work email. The referee should not include you on the email (references must be kept confidential from the applicant.
In the online application portal (under Supplemental Documents), please upload a CV/resume that summarizes academic and professional achievements, work experiences, and any other relevant information to support the review of your application. No specific format required (PDF preferred).
In a 1000-word essay, please discuss the following points:
- Why are you interested in the MM program?
- What are your career goals and how are they advanced through the MM program? Please be as specific as you can 鈥 what kind of work do you hope to be doing, what kind of organization do you hope to be working with?
- Your reflection on the professional skills, competencies, and communication skills that are necessary for individuals to be successful in a modern organization and how you have demonstrated aptitude with one of those skills in a workplace (it could be from a part-time, full-time or summer work experience).听
- Explain any gaps or deficiencies in your academic record, or any other factors, including barriers and challenges you wish to have taken into account, in support of your application.
Test Taker copies of English Language reports are not accepted; they must be official documents sent from the test centre.鈥

Note: The language competency test may be waived if the applicant has completed a degree that meets both of the following requirements:鈥
The degree is from a recognized university where the language of instruction is English.鈥
The university (or campus location) where the degree was obtained is in a country where English is an official language.

Certifications
The Master of Management includes flexible certificate options; Foundations in Management (Fall) and Project Management (Winter), so students can tailor their learning.

The MM follows a structured, competency-based approach, with each semester focusing on key management skills. Each semester is enriched by career development workshops, networking opportunities, and resume-building experiences to support students' transition into the workforce.

Experiential learning
In addition, the MM places a significant emphasis on experiential learning. Examples include:
INFO 5590听Students in this course will participate in a simulation-based learning experience. Enterprise Resource Planning Simulation (ERPsim) is a business simulation game in which participants use a real ERP system to manage their virtual company in a competitive market.
One of BUSI 6523 or PUAD 6520听Each year one or both of these courses will provide students with an opportunity to participate in a community and industry research project.
MGMT 5000 Students in this course work in partnership with a community-based organization to apply their disciplinary knowledge to a challenge identified by the community.
