Dal researchers in the Faculty of Dentistry have won a major award for research on the effectiveness of surgery for treating extreme sleep apnea — a frequently undiagnosed chronic condition that disrupts sleep.

Masters of Marine Management student Kristal Ambrose, whose research focuses on plastic waste in her home country of the Bahamas, took home first prize in º£½ÇÉçÇøapp's 3 Minute Thesis competition. The event, supersized for Dal’s 200th anniversary, featured some of the university's top grad students sharing their work in three-minute presentations.
