Overnight parking

There is no overnight parking permitted at º£½ÇÉçÇøapp University aside from university owned vehicles between the hours of 1:30 am and 6:00 am on any given day.

Vehicles whose owners who do not have permission to park overnight without the written permission of the Parking Services Manager, will be subject to ticketing/booting, or the vehicle may be towed at the owner’s expense.

Students

Please Note - There is No general overnight parking at º£½ÇÉçÇøapp University for Residence Students

Overnight parking for Residence Students is restricted to a limited number of spaces in the Risley Hall underground parkade via overnight permit. The parkade is currently at capacity with an extensive waiting list. Students are welcome to join the waiting list by contacting parking@dal.ca , however this does not guarantee a parking space until they are contacted.

Residence Students are advised to not bring a vehicle to campus without prior approval to park in the Risley Parkade by Parking Services or plans to park the vehicle elsewhere off campus overnight.

Students who possess a valid University daily parking permit, and are involved in academic related projects on campus, may occasionally be authorized by Parking Services, to park between 1:30 am and 6:00 am, at a location specified by Parking Services. Please have your Academic Supervisor contact parking @dal.ca in this situation.

Employees

Some employees will qualify for overnight/early morning parking permission due to their work assignments. Please have your supervisor contact Parking Services in this situation.

Winter Parking Ban/ Inclement weather conditions

Despite potential overnight winter parking bans by Halifax Regional Municipality, Vehicles cannot be left on campus overnight due to their obstruction of snow removal.

Vehicles that are potentially obstructing snow clearing activities may be towed at the owner’s expense.

Permit holders may be given permission to leave a vehicle on site in the case of a snowstorm if they feel it is unsafe for them to commute home. In such cases, the owner must

• Contact parking@dal.ca requesting permission & provide their name, license plate and phone number
• Park in the location requested by Parking Services

NOTE – This does not include those who live in Residence or the nearby community who are looking to get their vehicle off the public streets. Abandoning a vehicle on campus due to a street parking ban will result in it being ticketed and towed at the expense of the owner.
