As a student in Dal's Schulich School of Law, Peter L’Esperance started the Carbon Consultancy, a renewable-energy pilot project to encourage people, businesses and organizations to measure, reduce, offset or mitigate carbon emissions.

For two decades, a partnership between the community of North Preston and Dal's Faculty of Dentistry has enabled local children to receive dental care in a community previously underserved.

The Schulich School of Law’s Indigenous Blacks & Mi’kmaq Initiative was recently the recipient of a 2016 Zenith Award from Toronto-based Lexpert magazine, an honour that celebrates Canadian lawyers’ contributions in achieving diversity and inclusion in society and the legal profession.

Thanks to Math Circles — a partnership between º£½ÇÉçÇøapp, Eastlink, the Government of Nova Scotia and Halifax Regional School Board — elementary school students across the province are getting to explore math in interactive and entertaining new ways.
