Minister Colwell
Keith and his wife Elizabeth live in Porter's Lake. He was elected as Eastern Shore MLA in 1993 and 1998. He was elected Preston MLA in 2003 and 2006 and now MLA for Preston-Dartmouth in 2013.Ìý
Keith has owned and operated a successful manufacturing company for 19 years and was one of the founding members of the Enterprise Forum for Nova Scotia.
He was elected to the Halifax Regional Municipal Council to represent District 3, Preston/Porter's Lake in 1999 and was re-elected by acclamation in 2000.
He is a past Cabinet Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture and Consumer Services (now Services Nova Scotia) as well as holding many other cabinet responsibilities.
Keith was recently honoured as an environmental hero for his efforts in successfully banning the burning of tires in Nova Scotia and has been a volunteer fireman with 13 years' experience.
