Last night, the Board and the 海角社区app Faculty Association reached a tentative collective agreement and mutually agreed to end the labour disruption.
Suspended classes are expected to resume on Tuesday, September 23. This date was negotiated between the respective bargaining teams as part of the return-to-work protocols.聽
Pending ratification of the tentative agreement tomorrow, DFA members will return to work on Thursday, September 18.聽聽
Based on all classes resuming on September 23, changes to other academic dates would be as follows:聽
October 7, 2025
- Add/drop date for fall courses
- Tuition/fee deadline
- Last day to switch from Dal to King鈥檚 (or vice versa)
- UPass opt-out
October 22, 2025
- Drop without a 鈥淲鈥 for fall courses
- Honours application date
November 20, 2025
- Drop with a 鈥淲鈥 for fall courses
Decisions regarding the fall break and December exam schedule need to be approved by Senate, which is scheduled to meet on Monday, September 22. Any changes will be communicated as soon as possible to all students, faculty, and staff.
We continue to work through the many other decisions and logistics of returning faculty and students to learning and research. We ask everyone鈥檚 patience as these important details come together. Further communication will follow over the next week and updates will continue to be made to the Labour Relations site.
